Fresh Success Marketing Group Helps Battle Cystic Fibrosis

Fresh Success Marketing Group's President detailed the team's commitment to philanthropy, and their recent participation in the Uncork for the Cure event. The function raised awareness of cystic fibrosis.

“We attend charitable functions and fundraisers on a regular basis,” said Trang, the President of Fresh Success Marketing Group. “The Uncork for the Cure event is especially pleasant. There’s wine tasting, premium spirits, and handcrafted beers. Tasty treats and desserts are made by the best chefs in the San Antonio region, and there’s even live Latin jazz music. The truly rewarding aspect of the event, however, was bidding in the live and silent auctions. In all, an impressive amount of money was raised to support the battle against cystic fibrosis.

Trang explained that cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic and life-threatening disease. It affects the digestive system and the lungs, and over 10 million Americans carry the disease free from symptoms. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation opened in 1955. Prior to that time, few children with the illness survived long enough to attend elementary school. Today, it’s possible for them to survive into adulthood.

"At Fresh Success Marketing Group, we've learned a lot about CF through our support of the foundation,"

“This progress is thanks to the support of volunteers, donors, therapists, and researchers,” Trang stated. “Almost 90 cents of every dollar raised through the foundation is invested in the care and research that improves the lives of patients in our region and all over the world. My colleagues and I agree that contributing to this cause is an ideal the way for Fresh Success Marketing Group to make an impact.”

Fresh Success Marketing Group’s President Provides an Overview of Cystic Fibrosis

“At Fresh Success Marketing Group, we’ve learned a lot about CF through our support of the foundation,” Trang continued. “The primary issue is a defective gene, which causes buildup of mucus in a person’s lungs and other organs. Not only does it clog airways, but it traps bacteria and causes infections. It does a lot of damage through the pancreas as well, interfering with the release of enzymes that facilitate digestion.”

According to Trang, the symptoms of CF vary quite a bit. As a result – and due to the unique needs of patients in general – treatment plans are highly individualized. She hopes that the aggressive work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the tremendous support it receives, will continue to advance the number and effectiveness of available treatments. “In the U.S. alone, roughly 30,000 people face CF,” she concluded. “Worldwide, there’s an estimated 70,000. There’s a lot of work left to be done, and we are proud to be part of it.”
